Navigating Mexico City’s chaotic streets, the charming multi-generational Ochoa family operate a private ambulance, competing with other for-profit EMTs for patients in need of urgent help. With only 45 public ambulances for a city of 9 million, their unlicensed services are desperately needed. But as the Ochoas try to make a living in this cutthroat industry, they struggle to keep their financial needs from compromising the people in their care. Featuring thrilling car chases and riveting nighttime photography, the doc won a 2019 Sundance Film Festival special jury prize for Luke Lorentzen’s cinematography. This film is presented in partnership with the FREEP Film Festival.
